A few complexes have requested that details of their damage not be posted. I disagree with their decisions to request info not be posted, but I will honor such requests. However, I will do so only if I can list a valid email address owners can use to get information. --Andy
| Property Name | Address | Overall Condition | Water Level | Roof | Details |
| 7 Mile Beach Resort | 19 Piper Way | Moderate | 2-4 ft. on second story - groud floor submerged | Lost all roof tiles | Damage to first floor, offices and bar area. Reports that all residents are okay. |
| 82 Drake Quay | Gov. Harb. | Unknown | |||
| Anchorage | 1989 West Bay Rd. | Destroyed / Gone | |||
| Aqua Bay Club | 2131 West Bay Rd. | Mild damage | Kathy did a great job: No apparent structural damage. Lower units took some water. Some missing roof tiles. Vegation destroyed. Property made out very well. | ||
| Avalon | 1371 West bay Rd. | Minor | Owners received an email from someone who talked to Wakelyn, saying things were not too bad. Wakelyn is in need of chain saws and plywood to repair a few of the units that had some roof and window damage, but all in all, said the buildings stood up well and the hurricane shutters did their job. She went into the non-rental units to empty refrigerators and air things out some. If she can get supplies, she said she has the manpower to board things up. Someone is trying to get her generators | ||
| Beach Club Colony | 719 West Bay Rd. | Destroyed | Lost second floor essentially destroyed | ||
| Beachcomber | 933 West Bay Rd. | Damaged | Part of roof missing | ||
| Caribbean Club | 871 West Bay Rd. | - | Intentional demolition started on Sept 7-9 preliminary to redevelopment effort; so most, if not all, "damage" at the CC is not storm related | ||
| Casa Caribe | Intact | Our damage appears to be less than might have been expected. The reported "blown out" second floor is simply several units on the road side (not the beach side) with broken windows. We have lost many roof tiles, but overall the roof is still solid. There is damage to the carports, the garden area, and some windows in the office. Some apartments have wall and ceiling damage from water, which is being repaired by early October. We currently have the goal of being reopened in November.Generally, however, the structure seems to be in fairly good shape. The wind clearly came from the east side and the damage is worse on the road side than the beach side. Repairs are under way. Update 10/28/2004: Our power was restored on October 28. Our repairs are largely complete both inside and outside. We will reopen for visitors on December 15, 2004. Please call our office at 345-945-4287 for any additional information you require. | |||
| Cayman Club | 643 West Bay Rd. | Intact | Mixed reports | Heavy roof damage most (all?) tiles missing - but the lower roof surface is mostly intact | Little to no roof tiles left, but structure is intact. Worst (water?) damage was to back units. Little to no damage on ground floor near the ocean. Some upper unit have a fair amount of damage in spots the roof is missing |
| Cayman Islander | Heavy Damage | Confirmed by John Darby (of Colonial club) - front building lost its top floor. Other buildings have water damage. | |||
| Cayman Reef Resort | 497 West Bay Rd. | Mixed | Parts of the roofs over CRR are gone but the buildings are intact. Several of the units that weren't boarded up have lost their windows and doors. The beach is again gone.There are residents still living in some of the units. | ||
| Cayman Sands | Intact | Minor damage around units 5 and 6, car still standing in front of 15. Turner house on seaside still standing | |||
| Christopher Columbus | 2013 West Bay Rd. | Intact w/ damage | Initial reports indicate the windows and doors missing from at least some of the ground floor ocean front units (7,8,9,10). Some of the penthouse units, 29 & 30 mentioned, suffered damage to their roofs but no further info available at this time. Interior conditions are unknown. Ground floor units and office had water go through them. Willie & Lisa are OK. - We have confirmed that all of our employees and their families are safe. Mrs. Altona and Mr. Olney are safe and living with their son. -Food and water remain very short. Cell phone service is improving. Electricity is weeks away. Water is working in West Bay and parts of Georgetown. -the following is a more detailed report as to the condition of the condos: - Hardest hit are units 29 and 30. Apparently the tall tree in the courtyard hammered the roof until it gave way then the wind blew the roof off. Portions of unit 29 and 30 are open to the sky. Our biggest concern here is further water damage to units below. We have instructed Willie to do all he can to cover the roof. The problem is a lack of materials. -The units under 29 and 30 have water damage in varying degrees. The worst is 20, 21 is better, 22 is light and 23 is minimal. - Units 7, 8, 9 and 10 have 2 to 3 feet of sand on the floors. The oceanside sliding doors and windows were knocked in by the seas. The outside closet doors (courtyard side) are blown into the units. It appears seas came from both sides, the ocean and the parking lot side. - Second floor (units 16, 17, 18 and 19) of the north building are not too bad. - Units 3,4 5 and 6 have water on the floors, but no sand. Of these, unit 6 is in the best shape. - These sliding doors and the windows held.? It appears that the double sea wall (one on either side of the pool) and the pool helped protect these units a bit. - Units 31 and 26 took some damage. - The first floor garden units (1,2, 11 and 12) have some water on the floors.? The second floor garden units (14, 15, 24 and 25) also have some water damage, though not as bad as ground floor. - The top units (28 and 27) in the north building took some rain water where it blew under the sliding doors, the front door and the windows, but other than that they are in fair shape. - The office had some water damage. - The beach is a total loss. Sand is now all the way up to the buildings.? The gazebo and the other huts are gone. The furniture is gone or covered by sand. - The pool is full of sand. - Based on what I am hearing it appears that there is a good chance that the walls are structurally sound and for the most part the roof held. If we can get a cover over our roof damage we can limit further damage. tk - Anchorage, the condos next door, is a total loss. Roof gone. | ||
| Colonial Club | 769 West Bay Rd. | Intact - Light | According to John Darby property mgr: A few broken windows some sand and water in some of the units. Landscaping damaged badly, but overall things appear OK relatively speaking | ||

| Crescent Point | 319 West Bay Rd. | Mixed | talked to Sue Green the Manager at Crescent Point today (9/16) She says all first floor units had sea water in them during the storm. Small roof damage, 2nd and 3rd floors pretty good. Our unit (#24) had one window blown out, but didn't mention others. The office was full of sewage when the system was compromised. All the cars were floating in the lot. Sue's own home is heavily damaged and she is going to the states ASAP. She sent the children ahead of the storm. Everyone is in shock. Update: A lot being accomplished. Power expected anyday. Robert Bodden in charge of renovations. Sue Greene will be on island Oct 15-25 and can be contacted on crespt@candw.ky | ||

| Harbor Heights | 1453 West Bay Rd. | Some damage | - Landscaping and everything else outside a mess. No surprise. - No visible structural damage to the center building - Perhaps counter-intuitively, there was roof damage on each of the side buildings, but only to the roofs above the first two units on the road side. All other roofs appear to have held. - Erik's unit (center section, ground floor) and that of his sister Tove (right building as you face the water, ground floor) were structurally OK - My unit (#9 in the left building as you face the water) had no visible structural damage, although through the window he could see water on the floor - There were several people at Harbour Heights, but no sign of Bud and Missy (separately, we have heard via someone in Canada, I believe, that they are both OK) - Erik was not specific about the extent of water damage to the ground floor units, but in the absence of specific input I imagine it was meaningful | ||

Units with hurricane shutters seem to be in better shape. - Ganita the manager is okay. Earl, maintenance supervisor is well and on duty on-site. The garages are not destroyed. They took some water but are okay. Most ground floor units have little or no water damage. The Owners lounge took water (probably from the sound) and has some water damage. Some roof tiles missing.? Pool is full of sand. | |
| Plantana | 1239 West Bay Rd. | Intact / Mild | Ron and the manager (Marita) just completed a walk around of the complex. There is broken glass in units 19, 20, 21, and 44 (we read this to mean that none of the other units had broken glass). Some units had wet floors (no indication of what units) and maybe an inch of water. Not sure whether this means that the highwater mark was 1 inch or if the units still had 1 inch of water. Landscaping is gone. Earlier reports indicated some shingles had come off the roof | ||
| Plantation Village | 332 West Bay Rd. | Heavy damage | Update 10/27/04: see website for latest info. From the Plantation Village website: Currently Plantation Village is with out power, water or telecommunications....... Plantation Village is currently closed No specifics regarding structural damage were given. - Update: 09/21: The resort sustained massive flooding from the North Sound which came across the West Bay Road and from the sea side water edge. The water from West Bay road was higher than the landscaping wall in front of the tennis courts. All ground floor Villas, as well as the office were flooded with at least three feet of water. The water was higher than the deck of the pool view Villa's pool. The wave action from the sea came over the top of the seaside landscaping wall. The sea side landscaping wall held and received minor damage. The seaside pool also received minimal damage but the palm trees were destroyed. The buildings are structurally sound. There is catastrophic damage to the roofs and many missing tiles, with some either having exposed plywood or in some cases holes in the roof. There is some damage to windows and screens in various Villas throughout the resort not limited to the ground floor. We have been in contact with our insurance agent and he will be making a damage assessment in the up coming week. Plantation Village staff has already begun the immediate tasks of trying to prevent further damage and will be making a Villa by Villa damage assessment this coming week. We have personnel living on site to provide security to our property. | ||

| Raleigh Harbour | Damaged | The rear end of the property has been blown in,the condos have large glass doors and windows,which blew with the force of the winds/water from the East side. Structure sound,on ground floor,albeit our next door neighbour that had more windows than us has very little left still standing. Am not sure about upstairs,as cannot get through at this point. If anybody asks, Crystal Harbour has been demolished which is at the side of Safe Haven Golf course - Additional info., upstairs unit facing east canal in Raleigh Harbor East, appears to have suffered minimal damage to the exterior. oof off the building,on right hand side of development,not been able to board up blown in doors/windows - Oweners really would like to fidn somebody on the island to help with repairs... | |||

| Westin | 1149 West Bay Rd. | Damaged | Reports are conflicting - early info said one side was ripped off - A person from the corporate office said: Reports we have been receiving indicate the the Westin Resort lost a great deal of their roof shingles, had 6-windows blown-in and water which entered into the lobby from the front-side of the property. But, other than that, no other appreciable damage was incurred by the Westin. First hand account: We got back to the hotel and it was in bad shape. The French doors in a lot of the rooms had been smashed and many of the rooms had flooded. Big parts of the roof were knocked off and the tide swell had come from the beach through the 1st floor to the other side of the street. Living there the next 2 days was like one of those old horror movies with water drizzling from all the ceilings, all the furniture wet, creaking noises, wind hallowing and having to make your way everywhere with a flashlight. We helped the hotel clean up as much as we could. Tuesday afternoon the police came and told us to get to the airport, that there were some flights leaving. | ||
| White Sands | 1825 West Bay Rd. | Minor | Minimal damage - mostly cosmetic and water. All residents have moved back in - many are housing others who lost homes. | ||
